LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is no stranger to attracting attention any time of the day. As far as player agent and friend Rich Paul is concerned, this is one of the reasons why the four-time NBA champion stands out among the rest of the greats, including Michael Jordan.

The Klutch Sports CEO pointed out how James would be somehow dragged into discussions and hit the hardest practically round the clock in the news when he spoke on the Gilbert Arenas show.

"LeBron [James] is the first player to have to deal with a 24/7/365 news cycle of sports and opinions," Paul stated.

The 41-year-old stressed how this sets James apart from other players, including Michael Jordan. The media coverage on James is vastly different, with outlets aware that any news on the 38-year-old NBA star will undoubtedly attract attention on social media.

Social media has changed how media works since it is a platform where anyone can comment. This, in turn, becomes a source of misinformation due to opinions that are often taken out of perspective.

The great 2020 Bubble championship debate

Aside from Jordan, Paul also added another example. This was when the Lakers won the NBA championship in 2020 in the bubble, SI.com reported.

There is a debate on whether this should be discredited. However, Paul argued that had it been won by Stephen Curry and the Warriors, would the scenario be the same?

Although Curry has had his share of criticism, it pales compared to what James would be getting. Regardless, this is something that Paul believes contributes to the debate on who should be the Greatest of All Time in the NBA.
