Scuderia AlphaTauri driver Daniel Ricciardo will miss the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix after suffering a broken metacarpal on his left hand.
The 34-year-old sustained the fracture after crashing to the barriers, trying to dodge fellow Australian and McLaren driver Oscar Piastri, whom he failed to see when the rookie initially hit the barriers moments before during the second free practice session.
Ricciardo will miss Saturday's third practice session and qualifying session, as well as Sunday's race.
The recent Formula 1 returnee was set to compete in his third race since his comeback after being left without a seat this season following his departure from a two-year spell in McLaren. Ricciardo replaced the underperforming Nyck de Vries after ten races in 2023.
The eight-time race winner was seen in the paddock with a cast on his left hand, and it is unsure if he will be able to compete in the Italian Grand Prix, which comes directly the weekend after in Zandvoort.

Lawson is currently sitting in second place in the standings, with a chance to win the competition in the season finale at the end of October.
