Dolphins: Jonathan Taylor Trade Rumors Draw Hilarious Response From Mike McDaniel

The Miami Dolphins are said to be the favorites to land disgruntled Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, according to betting odds at the DraftKings Sportsbook and BetOnline.

The team reportedly made an offer to the 24-year-old, but Indianapolis did not accept it. Nonetheless, the Dolphins are continuing to engage in trade discussions for Taylor.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has responded to the reports indicating his team's interest in the star running back.

"Here's the thing about reports: I think my 2.5-year-old daughter just tweeted a report," the 40-year-old tactician said.

Taylor led the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in the 2021 NFL season, becoming a selection in the First Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl that year.

Mike McDaniel focuses on his job

During Thursday's practice, the charismatic head coach said that he prefers to let Dolphins general manager Chris Grier build the roster and does not want to speak about other players outside of the team.

McDaniel also added that he would be a terrible head coach if he focused on the nonstop rumors instead of leading the 90 players he is responsible for.

Miami was previously interested in another running back, four-time Pro Bowl selection Dalvin Cook, before he decided to sign for the New York Jets.

McDaniel added he still sees the running back position as important amid an offseason where many have stated that the position has lost its value.
