Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is set to remain with the Premier League side after agreeing to a contract extension that will see him wear the blue shirt until 2026.

Silva's current deal with Manchester City runs until 2025, and his new one-year extension allows him to win more trophies under manager Pep Guardiola for the next two years.

The 29-year-old arrived in Manchester in 2017 and has racked up 308 appearances in all competitions, scoring 55 goals and providing 59 assists.

The Portuguese has helped Manchester City win five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, two Community Shields, and the elusive UEFA Champions League nearly three months ago.

Silva has been linked to moves with fellow European giants FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain over the summer but has decided to stay at the Etihad Stadium.

He previously played for Ligue 1 side AS Monaco from 2014 to 2017, where he was teammates with then-prodigy Kylian Mbappe, helping the club win the league title in 2016-17.

Silva added that winning the continental treble last season was extremely special, and he is excited to be part of a squad with such hunger and passion.

He also said that their recent success makes him want even more, and Manchester City allows him to keep winning.
