It's going to take a while to get used to seeing Chris Paul wearing a Golden State Warriors uniform, but Stephen Curry sees it as an incredible opportunity to play with one of the greatest point guards in the history of the sport.

"It's a beautiful thing about basketball, you can't write these narratives. To go full circle, we've had a lot of battles over the years," Curry said to ESPN, describing his impending team-up with his fellow NBA 75th Anniversary Team member.

The only unanimous NBA MVP in league history also added that Paul would be entering his 18th season in the league while it will be his 15th, and having an opportunity to play together is amazing.

Curry is hopeful they will be able to win at the highest level, and he described Paul as super competitive, similar to himself.

Curry and Paul met thrice in the playoffs in 2014, 2018, and 2019, with Paul winning the first series as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers in an intense seven-game series.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors eliminated Paul and the Houston Rockets for two consecutive years during the latter 2010s.

Chris Paul helped Steph Curry before the four-time champion's NBA days

The four-time champion has a long history with Paul, going back one year before he even got drafted into the league and played an NBA game.

Both North Carolina natives, the Charlotte-raised Curry joined the first edition of Paul's annual CP3 Elite Guard camp in the latter's hometown of Winston-Salem in 2008.

Curry said that while joining Paul's camp and following in his shadow after he got drafted, Paul taught the future all-time great what it was like to work and prepare for the grueling demands of an NBA season, as well as the time and attention to detail that was needed to put in to become successful in the world's premier basketball league.

Paul said the first time Curry came to his camp, many people didn't know who the Davidson guard was.

"As soon as he left camp, he was on everybody's radar and he moved up to the top point guard in the country," the 12-time All-Star added.

However, Paul does not take credit for Curry's development, but he would appreciate it if he could be a part of the story of the greatest shooter of all time.

The 38-year-old previously mentioned during an interview in 2021 about Curry's attendance in his summer camp, saying that the veteran Warriors guard had already earned his respect during that time due to his sensational skills on the court.

Curry started his own annual SC30 Select Camp for elite high school prodigies in 2014 with the help of his shoe sponsor, American sportswear brand Under Armour. He admitted that attending Paul's camp helped him prepare to make it to the NBA.
