The Phoenix Suns are set to honor two members of their famous seven seconds or less era of basketball from the 2000s.

The team announced that they will induct Shawn Marion and Amar'e Stoudemire into the Phoenix Suns Ring of Honor and retire their jersey numbers 31 and 32 during the 2023-24 NBA season.

Suns owner Mat Ishbia said Marion and Stoudemire are two of the best players to wear a Suns uniform.

"As we embark on the new era of Suns basketball it is a priority that we remain connected to our storied history. We are excited to celebrate Shawn and Amar'e and properly recognize their incredible contributions and achievements," Ishbia added.

Each of the two will have their night of celebration at a Suns home game on a date that will be announced in the coming weeks.

Questions on which Stoudemire number to retire

Stoudemire spent the first half of his eight-year Suns' stint wearing number 32, which the team will retire.

The power forward-center switched his jersey number from 32 to 1 ahead of the 2006-07 season, and he arguably made a bigger impact wearing the new number. He made the All-Star game four times and the First Team All-NBA while sporting no.1.

However, the number is currently being worn by franchise player Devin Booker, who will get the number retired in his name down the road.
