Reading too much of himself, or was it just misinterpreted?
Heat fans and NBA supporters targeted Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce over the weekend for claiming he had a better career than Dwyane Wade.
Now, he is suggesting he was misinterpreted.
The Truth took to Twitter to clarify his comments during an appearance at the It Is What It Is show.
"I never compared myself to Dwayne Wade," he started.
"I was ask (sic) a question how would u answer if u was me I would never disrespect him; he is an all-time great all I'm saying is the narrative surrounding me would be different if I was lucky enough to play with all timers earlier in my career."

To better get his message across, he mentioned how other ring-less greats' careers panned out because of the lack of another superstar at the peak of their careers.
"Same can be said about Tracy Mcgrady, Vince Carter, Melo, Allen Iverson, the narrative would definitely be different, is his resume better course but this not about me comparing myself to him it's just Goat players out there where the narrative would be different if given same type of teammates Grant Hill, Chris Webber is all I'm saying, d wade much respect that's not what I'm on."
What did Pierce say in the podcast?
The one-time NBA champion said on the show that he is underappreciated by fans, and he used the ring argument to support it.
He claimed that Wade only appears to be more popular because The Flash got to play with superstars.
"Put Shaq on my team. Put LeBron and Bosh with me. I'm not gonna win one? You put me, LeBron and Bosh, we not gonna win one? We not gonna win a couple? Who's the better 3-point shooter? Is he a better scorer? OK, he averaged more points than me career. I can shoot the 3. I can mid-range. I can post up. I can get to the line. Who a better scorer?"
Again, reading too much of himself or just misinterpreted?
