Nicolas Batum was forced to comment on a Twitter post seemingly disparaging his former teammate Kemba Walker who had just signed with AS Monaco.
It has been some running joke on NBA Twitter. When a player struggles or fails to make an impact, his next destination is either a CBA team, a European league, or any other non-NBA franchise.
Batum, who played with Walker for the Charlotte Hornets for four years, does not think signing with Monaco is a downgrade. He also touched on the recovery the four-time NBA All-Star has to go through to be able to play again.

It’s not given to every good player to move to the 3rd best team in Euroleague and live in South of France.

Walker not looking at an NBA return yet
Walker appears unbothered by the misdirection of his basketball career and the detractors.
He said he is now more focused on helping Monaco, which plays at the domestic LNB Pro A and the EuroLeague.
Walker said he wants to take Monaco to another level.
"The club was very interested in me, and I just wanted to be part of a club that wanted me, that believed in me," the 12-year NBA veteran told Euro Hoops.
"I saw that the directors felt I could help them reach another level. That's what convinced me and made me decide to join Monaco."
