Vingegaard will continue his net casting shortly after his Tour de France victory as he immediately announced that he will compete in next month's Vuelta a Espana.

"We made the decision in November last year, so it's been the plan all the time," he told reporters.

"Now was the moment to break it. I'm really looking forward to the Vuelta. Of course I will enjoy the Tour de France win, but in one week I will start focusing on the Vuelta."
