Chase Claypool will have more time on his socials if his status with the Chicago Bears does not get ironed out before the start of the season.
Reports have confirmed that Claypool, who has been receiving criticisms over the summer for what fans perceived as a lack of preparation for next season, has been tagged as physically unable to perform by the team.
This means he will not join the club in the training camp with the season about to start in under two months.
The problem with Claypool started in June when Marc Silverman of ESPN's Waddle & Silvy Show shared that the organization is beginning to feel like they lost in the trade with Pittsburgh Steelers for the wide receiver.
"All I can tell you is it isn't trending in a way that the Bears have wanted it to trend in this offseason," Silverman said.
"I have heard from a few people inside that building that he is not somebody who is very self-motivated. There's a long way to go. Chase Claypool can change the narrative."
Fans also criticized him last month for appearing at a Paris fashion show, saying American football is no longer at the top of his priorities.
Claypool's response to criticism of work ethics
The criticisms Claypool receives seem to be night and day compared to what he feels about his upcoming season.
In an interview last July 1, he thinks his new season will be better than the last.
"Fans will be loving next year," he said.
"I'm excited. Obviously, with the additions we had in the offseason, but also being able to stack that knowledge from last season, all those learning and those growth spurts that we had to go through, I think it's going to be great."
