Danny Garcia Vs. Adrien Broner: 'Swift' Moving Up To Welterweight Division, 'Problem' Focused On Maidana [VIDEO]

Danny Garcia and Adrien "The Problem" Broner have both copped to being friends, but in boxing money talks. Garcia has become one of boxing's biggest stars following an upset win of Lucas Matthysse on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez, and is apparently seeking greater challenges.

Broner needs to get past Marcos Maidana on December 14th, but even if he falters Garcia could still move to welterweight and simply fight another big name, possibly even Maidana.

"We are looking at March," Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer said. "Soon I'm going to sit down with Garcia and his team and Al Haymon, and we'll discuss what he wants to do...if he wants to stay at 140 or move to 147, although I think there's pretty much no one left at 140. He cleaned the whole division out."

Garcia's match with Matthysse was thrilling, and a rematch would surely be a popular fight that fans would likely buy on pay-per-view. Matthysse is a vicious knockout puncher though, and a serious threat, whom Garcia is not interested in fighting again.

"He wasn't the champion. He never won a world title," Garcia said. "If he would've beaten me there would be a rematch because I was the champion. I don't got no interest in a rematch."

Garcia has also said that a matchup between he and Broner might be "underwatched," but as his star grows a Broner victory over Maidana could finally vault him to pay-per-view headlining status.

Schaefer's trying to pump the brakes on that train though, insisting Broner's full attention is trained on Maidana. "We can't look past Maidana, he's wanted this fight with Broner for such a long time," Schafer said.

"He is very hungry to win this fight. You are going to see the same hunger with Maidana that you saw when he fought Victor Ortiz. Before we talk about Danny Garcia, let's see what happens in San Antonio."
