Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James received the ESPY Award for Best Record-Breaking Performance on Wednesday night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The four-time champion claimed the honor after passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbr to become the NBA's all-time leading scorer in the regular season last February.

Before James received the award, his wife Savannah gave a lovely speech praising her husband's skills, work ethic, and contribution to the game of basketball. However, their eight-year-old daughter Zhuri had to intervene after her mom nearly said an expletive word.

"I want to tell you what I think. I think LeBron James is the baddest motherf...," Savannah said before Zhuri prevented her from completing the phrase, drawing laughter from the crowd.

LeBron James confirms that he will play his 21st NBA season

The NBA's all-time leading scorer confirmed his intention to return for the 21st season of his career in the world's premier basketball league, mentioning that he will continue to play as long as he has something to give.

"The day I can't give the game everything on the floor is the day I'll be done .... But lucky for you guys, that day is not today," the 38-year-old said.

Rumors about a potential retirement for James came out following the Lakers' elimination via a sweep by eventual NBA champions Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals last May.

Bleacher Report's Chris B. Haynes reported that James was not sure about returning to the Lakers for the 2023-24 NBA season.
