The Milwaukee Bucks have lost Jevon Carter to the Chicago Bulls during the summer window, and that leaves them now with only Jrue Holiday manning the point guard position.
Despite lacking personnel to quarterback the team, general manager Jon Horst does not feel the urgency to shop around for one.
"We're at peace with where we're at right now," he told The Athletic's Eric Nehm when asked if he would use the one roster spot remaining for a PG.
"We'll see. You never know how it works out and we'll have avenues to change, if we need to change. But we have a lot of secondary ballhandlers."
Giannis Antetokounmpo is one-floor general he could be talking about, as Jason Kidd once used him as a point guard.
Instead, the minutes for a backup PG will now go to two-way players, including a rookie he labels a "secret."
Omari Moore is more than meets the eye.
Horst said he is excited about Omari Moore, whom he calls a secret that can man the point now that the department has opened. He and fellow two-way contract player Lindell Wigginton will serve as Jrue Holiday's reliever.
What excites him about Moore?
"He's really smart with the ball, very poised, can make shots, has great size, so we feel good about that," he explained.
Moore went undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft, but the Bucks did not waste time getting him into a two-way contract.
Aside from Moore, other newcomers in the Bucks are Andre Jackson and Chris Livingston, who were taken as the 36th and 58th picks, respectively.
