Wimbledon tried to do something innocent by posting a picture of its best players then and now, but fans believe the people behind the competition could've done more brainstorming.

The poster features many greats that graced the world's most prestigious tennis competition, but notable omissions irked many supporters.

One of those is Andy Murray, who won the competition twice. Fans came to his defense, saying of all people; the British competition did not include the man that is their own.

Murray did not mind that his own legacy was not getting enough attention from Wimbledon. What he is bothered about was the player positioning in the poster, particularly of women greats like sisters Serena and Venus Williams.

"I guess the players that are on the poster are ones that have had incredible careers and have been unbelievably successful at Wimbledon," Murray said, as quoted by The Independent.

"But elsewhere are some of the greatest players of all time."

Except for Martina Navratilova, all female players were drawn at the back.

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are given too much credit?

Also noticeable was the placement of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who have yet to leave a mark in the competition.

Murray, objectively, thinks the two's picture is misplaced.

"For me, Alcaraz and Sinner are unbelievable players but it just seems strange that they were all sort of behind them," he said.

"I personally don't really care that much about it. But I can see when you look at it's like, 'that does look a bit strange'."

Wimbledon has yet to release a statement on the controversy. The 2023 Wimbledon will kick off on July 3.
