The agreement includes a player option for the 2025-26 season, which could allow Reid to negotiate a better deal in two years if he performs well.
After spending a year playing college basketball for LSU, the 6-foot-9 center went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Timberwolves subsequently signed him on a multi-year contract, and he spent some time for their G League affiliate, Iowa Wolves, during his rookie season.
The franchise risked losing Reid in free agency, beginning in a few days. Fortunately, the 23-year-old's agents, Sean Kennedy and Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management, finally reached a deal with Timberwolves president Tim Connelly on Sunday after several months of negotiations.

Naz Reid Played His Best Season in 2022-23
Reid had a breakout season in 2022-23, averaging career-highs of 11.5 points and 49.5 rebounds on a 53.7% shooting clip from the field.
He scored a career-high 30 points against the Golden State Warriors on February 26, 2023 in a 109-104 losing effort against the then-defending champions.
However, Reid's sensational year came to an end after breaking his wrist in a loss against the Phoenix Suns on March 28. It was later diagnosed as a left scaphoid fracture.
The center missed the team's play-in games against the Lakers and Thunder and their first-round postseason matchup against eventual champions Denver Nuggets, who ousted them in five games.
