Los Angeles Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue noted how NBA head coaches are given very little room for mistakes compared to players.

In an appearance on The Shop, the 46-year-old mentioned that a coach could get fired for making one or two mistakes, but a player can have a bunch of turnovers, shoot horribly from the field and still keep their jobs.

The Clippers coach lamented that teams keep blaming and firing good coaches, adding that everybody will make mistakes no matter how well-prepared the coaching staff is coming to a playoff series.

Lue's remarks came after the recent firings of NBA champion coaches Nick Nurse, Mike Budenholzer, Doc Rivers, and a successful coach in Monty Williams.

Tyronn Lue Was Fired Before

Lue started his coaching career as an assistant with the Celtics in 2011. He spent a season with the Clippers in 2013-14 in the same post before moving to the Cavaliers a year later.

He eventually became the Cavaliers' head coach in February 2016, where he mentored the squad to the franchise's first-ever NBA Championship that year.

Lue remained in Cleveland until October 2018, where he was fired after a 0-6 start in the season following the departure of LeBron James to the Lakers.

Then-Clippers head coach Doc Rivers brought in Lue for an informal role at the end of 2018, and he became the team's lead assistant coach before the start of the 2019-20 season.

Following the Clippers' elimination in the 2020 NBA Playoffs in the bubble, Lue was promoted as the team's head coach after the firing of Doc Rivers.
