Sixers star James Harden is reportedly having a hard time deciding what his next career move should be.

The 2018 NBA MVP's two choices are either staying with the Philadelphia 76ers or going back to the Houston Rockets, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Charania added that Harden is torn, with Sixers GM Daryl Morey and new head coach Nick Nurse having conversations with the shooting guard. Meanwhile, the Rockets have over $67 million in salary cap space, and Harden has roots and family in the city.

James Harden at Crossroads About Next Move

Any sudden movement within both squads could influence Harden's choice. Whichever way it goes, it's going to be a close battle.

Harden arrived in Houston in 2012 after spending the first three seasons of his career as a sixth man with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He made a name for himself in Houston, becoming one of the best scorers in the game's history with the franchise. In 2018, he was named the league's Most Valuable Player.

After consecutive playoff exits, the GM Daryl Morey and head coach Mike D'Antoni left in 2020, while Harden demanded a trade.

Harden was shipped to the Brooklyn Nets in 2021, teaming up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

The alliance was short-lived and unsuccessful, as Harden was traded a year later to the Sixers for Ben Simmons and other players.
