Dallas Stars winger Jamie Benn has been suspended for the next two games due to an infraction in Game 3 of their Western Conference final series against the Vegas Golden Knights, according to NHL's Department of Player Safety on Wednesday.
The Stars are currently on the brink of elimination, down 0-3 in the series. Benn will be serving the suspension in Game 4 and Game 5 if possible.
If they get swept, the Stars team captain will be serving the second of his two-game suspension in the season opener of the 2023-24 NHL season.

The Vegas-based team was not pleased with Benn's actions, and officials quickly sent him to the office.
Benn took responsibility for his actions, saying that it was due to the heat of the moment. The 33-year-old veteran said that it was his first shift of a game on home ice. Being down 1-0, he wanted to get his game going.
"Emotions are high, and it's just an unfortunate play. I put my team in a tough situation, so it's pretty unfortunate," he said via ESPN.
Benn added that he needed to be more responsible with his body and stick, saying the incident did not feel good.
The Vegas Golden Knights are looking to sweep the Dallas Stars in Game 4 on Thursday.
