The Boston Celtics are on the brink of elimination after losing the first three games of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat, with the latest loss being a 128-102 beatdown in South Beach.
The Beantown failed to notch a win in the first two games on their famed parquet home floor, leaving some to wonder if their star duo, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, are a great fit.
Kendrick Perkins Believes It's Time to Break Up Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown
ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins did not hold back on First Take when asked if the duo had hit their ceiling together.
"Hell yeah, they have [hit their ceiling]," the former Celtic said.
Perkins also cited that despite reaching multiple Conference Finals and an NBA Finals run last year, they do not complement each other well.
Another thing that the ESPN analyst pointed out is that he hasn't seen the duo work out together during the summer, while it has been common to see other NBA players working out together and posting it on social media, even if they are not teammates.
"I'm not saying they have to be best friends. But its alarming to me when I watch and I look across the internet and I see guys working out throughout the summer time and I have never see Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown link up one time," Perkins said.
Perkins also suggested that the Celtics should look into acquiring Blazers star Damian Lillard.
Tatum and Brown are eligible for massive contract extensions worth $613 million combined, as per Action Network.
