Aside from the ambitious goal, the 7'4 center said he is a team player and will do everything to win as many games as possible.
Wembanyama also noted a special relationship between his home country France and the San Antonio Spurs, stating that many in the country wanted the Spurs to have the first pick.
Frenchmen Tony Parker and Boris Diaw notably won the 2014 NBA championship with the franchise, with Parker winning three more prior and the 2007 Finals MVP.
Hours before the lottery, Wembanyama played in the final regular season game of his current team Metropolitans 92, in the LNB Pro A in France. Football superstar Kylian Mbappe was in attendance as the consensus #1 pick had 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a 93-85 win over Paris Basketball.
Fans are excited for the French phenom to be under the tutelage of legendary Spurs head coach and team president Gregg Popovich, considered one of the best coaches ever.
