Grizzlies: Dwight Howard Invites Ja Morant to Taiwan Amid Gun Scandal

Eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard, who now plays for the Taoyuan Leopards in the T1 League, has invited controversial Grizzlies star Ja Morant to play in Taiwan.

Morant, who is currently the center of attention due to his antics of flashing a gun on Instagram Live for the second time in two months, is not likely to make a move to Asia.

The electrifying guard signed a five-year extension with the Memphis Grizzlies in July 2022 worth $193 million, which can go up to $231 million if certain incentives are met. The contract takes effect in the 2023-24 NBA season.

Dwight Howard Wants Ja Morant to Play in Taiwan

The 6-foot-10 center expressed his support for the Grizzlies star on social media, saying that he can still "get it right."

But if the worst-case scenario happens, Howard said that Morant could fly across the Atlantic to play in Taiwan.

Howard also invited Suns star Chris Paul to Taiwan following their recent playoff exit at the hands of the Denver Nuggets.

The three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year has been enjoying his time in Asia, shooting a commercial while being a popular figure among fans.

In his debut for the Leopards, Howard produced 38 points, 25 rebounds, nine assists, and four blocks.

The 2008 NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion finished the T1 League season as the league's leading rebounder, averaging 16.2 per game. He was also named an All-Star and All-Defensive First Team for his efforts.

However, his team Taoyuan Leopards failed to make a splash, finishing last in the league with a poor 6-24 win-loss record.
