Jets: Brandon Marshall Reveals Aaron Rodgers Reason To Come Out of Retirement

Former wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who played 13 seasons in the NFL, announced that he would willingly come out of retirement to play alongside future Hall-of-Famer quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the New York Jets.

The 39-year-old Rodgers was acquired by the Jets in a blockbuster trade this offseason that involved a multitude of draft picks.

Brandon Marshall Wants to Play With Aaron Rodgers

Marshall, who has not played in the NFL since 2018, shared a pitch on the I AM ATHLETE podcast about what he will do if the Jets does indeed sign him.

"I'm going to be able to contribute at a high level, and this is what I'm going to be able to give you: 45 catches throughout the year, 20 to 30 plays a game, and I'm going to give you eight touchdowns," said the 39-year-old ex-wide receiver.

The six-time Pro Bowl selection also mentioned that he intends to return as a tight end, a role he never played during his career.

Marshall was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played for the New York Jets from 2015 to 2016 and co-led the league in receiving touchdowns in 2015. He also holds the NFL record for most receptions in a game with 21.

Despite his respectable career, Marshall never had the chance to play in the postseason.
