Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown got slapped with a technical foul during the second quarter of Game 7 of their Eastern Conference series against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Sixers backup Georges Niang appeared to have grabbed Brown's leg while running down the court, igniting a reaction from the two-time All-Star.

Niang also received a tech for the incident.

Jaylen Brown's Technical Foul is Rescinded

Upon further league office review, the NBA announced that it was rescinding the technical foul call on Brown.

In the post-game interview, the 26-year-old appeared to have taken shots at Scott Foster, the official who made the call.

"He made a play and I responded to it... And here comes Scott Foster. Right away before even deciphering the situation, gives me a tech," Brown said.

Foster has gained notoriety among NBA fans for his habit of making bad calls, earning the nickname "The Extender" because he allegedly makes calls to extend playoff series to the distance.

Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul has an infamous 3-17 record in games officiated by the 28-year veteran, breaking a 13-game losing streak just recently on April 19 in a playoff game against the Clippers.

In a survey among NBA players in 2023, Foster was voted as the league's worst referee.

The incident between Brown and Niang received various reactions from fans, including a hilarious reference to Clippers owner Steve Ballmer grabbing the legs of two fellow spectators.
