Phoenix Suns point guard, Chris Paul, sustained a groin injury during the team's game against the Denver Nuggets on Monday. Per a report, Paul will be unavailable for Games 3-5 and will undergo re-evaluation a week after receiving an MRI on Tuesday.

This comes after the Suns lost Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals to the Nuggets, leaving them down 2-0 without their floor general. Paul sustained the injury during the third quarter of the game and had to leave the court.

The suns Must Win Game 3 at All Cost

The Suns' head coach, Monty Williams, revealed that Paul could not push off the injury and that the team was unsure of its severity.

Paul had already scored eight points and made six assists in 25 minutes of play before leaving the game. Fortunately, the Suns have some extra time before their next game, as Game 3 is scheduled for Friday night in Phoenix.

Devin Booker, another guard for the Suns, expressed hope for Paul's quick recovery and stated that the team would do their best to perform well even without their point guard.

Paul's unfortunate habit of getting injured at crucial moments has repeatedly derailed his championship aspirations, with the most recent incident being no exception.

The Suns were already struggling to contend for the championship, and Paul's absence from Game 2 only added to their doubts.

Since the trade deadline, the Suns have been unable to establish much cohesion on the court due to limited playing time for Kevin Durant. Therefore, it was not entirely unexpected when the Nuggets took a commanding series lead.

The Suns must win Game 3 at all costs, as no NBA team has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit in a best-of-seven series.

Furthermore, Phoenix is at risk of running out of steam, given their heavy reliance on Durant, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton.

With their season on the line, the Suns face a less-than-ideal situation without Paul.
