Aaron Rodgers bid a heartfelt farewell on Tuesday to the Green Bay Packers, the city, and its fans via Instagram as his time with the franchise ended. He said this was not the end for him and that Green Bay would always have his heart.

Rodgers' 18-year Career with the Packers

The Packers officially traded the four-time MVP quarterback to the New York Jets. In exchange for Rodgers, the Jets received the veteran quarterback, a 2023 first-round pick, and a 2023 fifth-round pick. In return, the Packers obtained a 2023 first-round pick, a 2023 second-round pick, a 2023 sixth-round pick, and a conditional 2024 second-round pick.

The Packers and Jets had been expected to reach a deal for Rodgers for some time since the quarterback stated during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show in March that he intended to play for Gang Green in 2023.

Rodgers spent his 18-year NFL career with the Packers, leading the franchise to dominate the NFC North and win a Super Bowl following the 2010 regular season. He was also a 10-time All-Star, four-time first-team All-Pro, and four-time MVP during his time with the franchise.

With his move to the Jets, Rodgers will attempt to lead the team to an AFC East title for the first time since 2002, secure a postseason berth for the first time since the 2010 campaign, and make an appearance in the Super Bowl for the first time since 1968.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas called the trade "historic" for the franchise and spoke about the move during his pre-draft press conference on Tuesday.
