Following the Grizzlies' victory over the Lakers in Game 2, Dillon Brooks, the team's forward, reiterated that he is not intimidated by LeBron James.
Brooks claimed he has no fear of guarding the four-time NBA champion, regardless of age.
Brooks went on to say that he provokes and disrespects his opponents until they show him what they are truly capable of on the court.
LeBron James' Tolerance Became Noticeably Low
When James was asked about Brooks' comments during a media appearance before their next game, he simply replied, "No." James emphasized that the game's outcome is always determined by what happens on the court, not through pre-game trash talk.
James' tolerance became noticeably low as journalists persisted in attempting to extract a quote from him. In the end, he abruptly stopped everything and left the scene. A few journalists present dismissed it as a joke, but LeBron didn't find it amusing.
James was unwilling to speak, but Rui Hachimura provided a brief statement regarding Brooks, stating that Grizzlies is a young team, and that's why they want to talk. He added that the Lakers don't care and will play and try to win the game.
James scored 21 and 28 points in the two games played so far, with each team winning one game. As the series is now tied, the upcoming Game 3 in Los Angeles could be more intense due to Brooks' comments, adding extra motivation for both sides.
