Chris Paul was seen holding onto his right hand late in the final period of the Phoenix Suns Game 2 win against the Los Angeles Clippers.

After making a 17-foot fadeaway jumper from the right wing at the 3:02 mark of the fourth quarter, Paul kept his foot on the gas and stole the ball from Russell Westbrook in the ensuing play.

He seemed to have hurt his hand and was holding on to it after, but he still got the ball to DeAndre Ayton, who extended their lead to ten.

After another Westbrook turnover, Paul followed through with another jump shot. In a last-ditch effort to stem the tide, the Clippers called a timeout, albeit for naught because they never scored again. It did, however, allow the Suns to take Paul out.

With Game 2 already won, 121-109, the Suns wasted no time having Paul's hand checked. He has had four hand surgeries in the past, and the hand in question was the same one. He had a thumb avulsion fracture last year, which forced him to sit out 15 games post-All-Star Break. It was also the same hand he injured two years ago during their most recent NBA Finals run.

Thankfully, the X-rays came back negative though it is still too early to confirm his availability for Game 3. At the very least, he's no stranger to playing hurt.

In 2021, he underwent an MRI before Game 6 of another playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers. It revealed several partially torn ligaments on his right hand (again?!), yet he refused to sit out the game.
