The Buffalo Bills are on the brink of clinching their second straight division title following their 14-point win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. A win over the New York Jets or a loss by the New England Patriots in Week 18 will help seal the AFC East crown for Buffalo. Here's a breakdown of the Jets vs Bills matchup.
New York Jets installed as +17 underdogs
The New York Jets dropped to 4-12 for the season after a heartbreaking 28-24 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17. The Jets once again had no answer for Tom Brady, who threw for 410 yards and three touchdowns.
The game was there for the taking for the Jets, who led for the majority of the contest. They entered the halftime break with a 17-10 advantage and stretched that lead to 24-10 during the third quarter. Momentum was definitely with New York, and a Jets victory looked to be a foregone conclusion when Antonio Brown walked away in bizarre fashion in the third quarter.
The Jets have a tortured history with Brady, though, and they were brutally reminded of it in the second half. Tampa Bay scored the game's final 18 points to turn a 14-point deficit into a four-point win in the end.
The Jets had an excellent opportunity to seal the win before the two-minute warning, but they failed to convert a first down on a 4th-and-2 opportunity. That gave the ball back to Brady, who engineered a magnificent 93-yard touchdown drive in the final two minutes with no timeouts remaining to give Tampa Bay a memorable comeback win.

Buffalo Bills enter Week 18 as -17 favorites
There is just no stopping the Bills right now. Buffalo extended its winning streak to three games with an impressive 29-15 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. It has been a stunning turnaround for the Bills, who had lost two straight games before embarking on their three-game unbeaten run.
The Bills were in serious danger of missing the playoffs after losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14. The AFC East title looked to be headed back to New England, with the Patriots holding a two-game lead over the Bills at that stage. Here they are, however, after Week 17 with the Bills clinching a playoff spot and controlling their own destiny in the race for the division crown.
The Bills remained in fourth place in the AFC standings with the win against the Falcons. For Buffalo to seal home-field advantage on Wild Card Weekend, the Bills will need to get a much-improved performance from Josh Allen in Week 18. He struggled mightily in the win against the Falcons, completing just 11 of 26 passes for 120 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions.
