The Miami Dolphins entered their bye week as one of the hottest teams in the NFL, winning their last five games to improve to 6-7 for the season. They will look to keep the momentum going in Week 15 when they host the New York Jets in a key divisional showdown. Here's a breakdown of this Jets vs Dolphins matchup.
New York Jets enter Week 15 as +7 underdogs
New York's losing woes show no sign of ending as the Jets crashed to their second consecutive defeat with a humiliating 30-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 14. The Jets have now lost 10 of their first 13 games this season. They trail the red-hot New England Patriots by six games in the AFC East.
For the Jets to return to the win column in Week 15, they will need Zach Wilson to deliver the goods against Miami. He struggled mightily in the loss to the Saints, completing just 19 of 42 passes for 202 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
It did not help matters for Wilson that the Jets were missing several key offensive players in their game against the Saints. Running backs Michael Carter and Tevin Coleman and wide receivers Corey Davis and Elijah Moore did not play in Week 14 due to various injuries.
The Jets' offense faltered as a result, registering just 256 total yards against New Orleans. They had difficulty moving the chains in Week 14, going just 3 of 14 on their third-down opportunities.

Miami Dolphins installed as -7 favorites
There is just no stopping Brian Flores' men right now. Miami extended its winning streak to five games with an impressive 20-9 victory over the New York Giants in Week 13. It has been a stunning turnaround for the Dolphins, who had lost seven straight games before embarking on their five-game unbeaten run. They are just the second team in NFL history to record a five-game winning streak immediately after a seven-game losing skid.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa impressed in his third start since injuring his finger, completing 30 of 41 passes for 244 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Jaylen Waddle was his favorite target, catching nine passes for 90 yards. Waddle now has 86 receptions in 2021, the most by a rookie this campaign.
For the Dolphins to extend their unbeaten run against the Jets, they will need to continue their excellent play on the defensive end. The Dolphins put the clamps on Mike Glennon in Week 13, limiting him to just 187 passing yards. They have outscored their opponents by an average of 23-11 during their winning streak. The average 11 points the Dolphins have allowed during this stretch would be first in the NFL.
