Two NFC teams with losing records will square off in this week's edition of Monday Night Football, with Washington hosting Seattle in primetime. Taylor Heinicke has been playing some outstanding football for Washington of late, and he will look to keep the winning streak going against a Seattle side that is languishing at the bottom of the NFC West standings. Here's a breakdown of the Seattle vs Washington game.
Seattle Seahawks installed as +0.5 underdogs
Seattle's losing woes show no sign of ending as the Seahawks suffered a 23-13 defeat at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11. The Seahawks have now lost five of their last six games to drop to 3-7 for the season. They are losing ground fast in the NFC West as they trail the red-hot Arizona Cardinals by 6.5 games.
The Seahawks will look to get their season back on track when they travel to Maryland to face the Washington Football Team. It is essential for the Seahawks that Russell Wilson delivers a solid game in this matchup.
He struggled mightily against the Cards, completing just 14 of 26 passes for 207 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in his first start at Lumen Field since undergoing finger surgery. Wilson has been erratic since his return, failing to find the end zone in both of Seattle's losses to Green Bay and Arizona.
To make matters worse for the reeling Seahawks, starting left cornerback Tre Brown suffered a patellar tendon injury during the loss to the Cardinals. His promising rookie campaign appears to be over now, with Brown needing season-ending surgery.

Washington Football Team installed as -0.5 favorites
Washington extended its winning streak to two games with a thrilling 27-21 victory over the Carolina Panthers on the road. Ron Rivera's men spoiled Cam Newton's return to Charlotte as Washington moved to within one game for the sixth spot in the NFC.
In this critical road win, Taylor Heinicke starred for Washington, completing 16 of 22 passes for 206 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He forged quite a connection with Terry McLaurin, who caught five passes for 103 yards and a score. What made their performance so impressive was that it came against a Carolina team that possessed the league's top-ranked passing defense.
However, Joey Slye sealed the win for Washington, knocking down two field goals in the final four minutes and 13 seconds that turned a 21-21 deadlock into a six-point victory in the end.
For Washington to make it three wins in a row against Seattle, Heinicke must continue his stellar play. He played one of the best games of his NFL career against the Panthers, finishing with a 141.3 QB rating.
Establishing the run will be vital for Washington as well in the game against Seattle. They ran for 190 yards against Carolina, 95 of which came from Antonio Gibson on 19 carries.
