The Alabama Crimson Tide jumped to No. 2 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll after a resounding win over the New Mexico State Aggies in Week 11. The Crimson Tide will look to cement their standing in the top 2 this Saturday when they host the Arkansas Razorbacks. Here's our preview for a breakdown of this Arkansas vs Alabama Week 12 game.
Arkansas Razorbacks installed as +20.5 underdogs
Arkansas extended its winning streak to three games with a narrow 16-13 victory over the LSU Tigers in Week 11. It was a morale-boosting win for the Razorbacks, who grabbed their first victory over LSU since 2015. The Razorbacks improved to 7-3 with the win and evened their conference record to 3-3.
KJ Jefferson completed 18 of 25 passes for 142 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the win against LSU. He was also Arkansas' leading rusher, running for 41 yards on 15 carries. Those numbers proved to be enough for Arkansas as the Razorbacks' defense stepped up big time in this contest.
Trailing 10-3 at the halftime break, the Razorbacks buckled down to work in the second half and overtime, limiting the Tigers to just three points during that period. They recorded two interceptions on freshman quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, including a costly pick in overtime that resulted in Cam Little's game-winning field goal.
Things are bound to get more challenging for the Razorbacks in Week 12 as they will next face mighty Alabama. They have struggled against the Crimson Tide lately, losing their last 13 games dating back to 2008. Alabama defeated Arkansas, 41-38, in 2007 but the Crimson Tide vacated that win.
