Steph Curry's Parents at War: Sonya, Dell Curry Accuse Each Other of Cheating After Divorce Reveal

The parents of NBA sharpshooters Steph and Seth Curry are a couple no more. According to a report by TMZ, Sonya Curry filed for divorce from former Charlotte Hornets star and NBA Sixth Man of the Year Dell Curry last June, with both parties accusing each other of cheating during their 33-year marriage.

Sonya and Dell explored trial separation for over a year

Sonya and Dell released a statement to PEOPLE about their divorce, telling the magazine that they decided to end their marriage after exploring a trial separation for over a year. They said that their focus and desire at this stage is for their family's continued happiness and that they want to stay committed and supportive of their children and grandchildren moving forward.

It is a sad end to a partnership that started in the 1980s when the Currys were both student-athletes at Virginia Tech. They first met each other on the Hokies' recruiting trip for Sonya, who would become an all-conference volleyball star for Virginia Tech.

The two eventually tied the knot in 1988, the same year their eldest son Stephen was born. Sonya gave birth to two more children, Seth in 1990 and her youngest daughter Sydel in 1994. All three of their kids became outstanding athletes, with Steph and Seth eventually joining the NBA and Sydel playing volleyball for Elon.

Sonya and Dell accuse each other of cheating

A day after the news broke that the Currys have filed for divorce, new details have emerged as reasons behind the shocking separation. According to divorce documents obtained by TMZSonya Curry accused her husband Dell of cheating with different women while they were married.

However, Dell told a different story as, according to the former NBA star, it was his 55-year-old wife who cheated during the relationship. In the court filing that Dell submitted, he accused Sonya of engaging in "acts of illicit sexual misconduct" even before their separation. Dell also said that Sonya went on to lie about those alleged incidents.

Dell added more fuel to the fire, saying that Sonya is now living with another man, and that should be reason enough to prevent her from collecting alimony after their divorce. Sonya is firing back at Dell, though, saying that she isn't living with the man in question but rather alone as he has refused to allow her back in their home.

Sonya admitted that she's dating now, but her new relationship started months after she and Dell decided to legally separate. Sonya then dropped a huge revelation, saying that Dell was the one who was unfaithful during their marriage, with his infidelity known to family and close friends.
