LiAngelo Ball's quest to land an NBA contract and follow in his famous brothers' footsteps remains right on track after another solid showing in the Summer League on Monday. He scored in double-figures for the second game running in the Charlotte Hornets' 80-70 loss to the Sacramento Kings.

All eyes were on Ball inside the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, after his sterling debut on Sunday. He scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded two steals in 19 minutes and 58 seconds of action against the Kings. The 22-year-old's playing time was not enough for some fans in the arena who erupted with "We Want Gelo" chants to get Ball back in the game.

LiAngelo Ball hoping to follow in his brothers' footsteps and land an NBA contract

Ball has been a fan favorite in the Summer League as he attempts to finally secure an NBA contract and join his more illustrious brothers in basketball's top professional league. Lonzo Ball was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers as the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and had just landed a four-year $85 million deal with the Chicago Bulls.

LaMelo Ball, for his part, was drafted third overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft and has quickly established himself as one of the franchise's key players. He was named the 2020-21 NBA Rookie of the Year, averaging 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game last season while shooting a solid 43.6 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 75.8 percent from the line.

LiAngelo Ball making the most of Summer League opportunity with Hornets

LiAngelo, the middle brother of the famous trio, is trying to carve his own path in the NBA. The Hornets gave him a shot to be in their lineup for the Las Vegas Summer League, and he is making the most of this grand opportunity.

Ball dazzled in his debut against the Portland Trail Blazers, finishing with 16 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 16 minutes of action. He was red-hot from beyond the arc, knocking down five three-pointers, which were more than the three-pointers made by the rest of the team combined (three).

LaVar Ball was there to watch his son make his Summer League debut, with the proud father wearing his "I told you so" hat courtside. Also in attendance was his brother LaMelo, who watched the game alongside Charlotte head coach James Borrego and Hornets forward Miles Bridges.

Though he scored in double digits for the second game in a row against the Kings on Monday, Ball's shooting stroke from outside wasn't as sharp. After going 5 of 8 from deep in the loss against the Blazers, Ball shot just 1 of 4 from the 3-point range in the loss to Sacramento.
