It's now Day 14 of the Tokyo Olympics, and the women are once again taking center stage for Team USA in today's festivities. Beach volleyball is the sport to watch today for Team USA fans as the pair of April Ross and Alix Klineman will be gunning for the gold medal today.
Also taking place today are the semifinal matches of Team USA in the women's basketball and women's volleyball competitions. The Americans are just two wins away from winning the coveted gold medal in those events so expect them to leave it all on the line on the hard courts.
Ross and Klineman aiming for history
April Ross and Alix Klineman will be looking to make history on Day 14 when they face the Australian duo of Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar in the women's beach volleyball final at the Tokyo Olympics.
Also known as Team USA's A-Team, Ross and Klineman enter the gold medal match as overwhelming favorites as they have yet to suffer defeat in this year's Olympics. They went unbeaten in pool play and recorded straight-set wins in all three of their knockout matches thus far.
The Ross-Klineman pair will be looking to become just the second American duo in women's beach volleyball history to go undefeated in a single Summer Games. The legendary pair of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings accomplished that unbelievable feat three times back in the 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing, and 2016 Rio Games.
However, they will have their work cut out for them against the Australians, who have been playing some excellent volleyball as well in this tournament. Del Solar and Clancy are 5-1 in the Tokyo Olympics, with their only defeat coming against the Russian Olympic Committee in pool play.
The much-anticipated gold medal match between Team USA and Australia will begin at 10:30 p.m. ET with NBC airing the live broadcast.

Team USA targeting gold medal matches in women's volleyball and basketball
Team USA's other women's volleyball team will also see action today as the Americans look for a spot in the gold medal match when they take on powerhouse Serbia in the semifinals. Team USA is still dealing with injuries to two of its key players in Jordyn Poulter and Jordan Thompson and will enter this match as the clear underdogs.
The Americans are highly motivated, though, as they want to exact payback against the Serbians, who handed them a stinging defeat in this same competition stage at the Rio Olympics back in 2016. The game starts at 12 a.m. ET and can be seen live on CNBC.
Another US vs. Serbia clash is in store for Team USA fans today, this time in women's basketball, as the Americans look to extend yet again their historic winning run in the Olympics. Breanna Stewart is leading the charge for Team USA, who scored 23 points and grabbed five rebounds in the quarterfinal win against Australia.
Action starts at 12:40 a.m. ET with NBC providing the live coverage.
