Ohio State and Michigan meet for the 110th time today and the rivalry is hotter than ever. Ohio State clinched a spot in the Big Ten Championship with a 42-14 victory over Indiana at home last Saturday and set a school record with its 23rd consecutive win.
Michigan knows this game will be a tough challenge, but the team is ready for it.
"This game has always been different in some ways," Michigan coach Brady Hoke said per ESPN. "Are they a good football team? Yeah. They're a very good football team. Do we have to play better than we've played? I don't think there's any doubt."
The Buckeyes have been led by signal caller Braxton Miller, who is 132-for-195 (67.7%) for 1,626 yards with 19 touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 738 yards on 116 carries for five scores.
Miller knows the team wants to be the best it can possibly be.
"It's just striving for the best," Miller said via ESPN. "We ended the season 12-0 last year and we weren't able to play in a bowl game or the Big Ten championship game (because of NCAA sanctions). That's what we were striving for. (We want to) accomplish that and keep going forward, keep winning games and just make Ohio State proud."
Carlos Hyde is the team's leading rusher with 1,064 yards on 138 attempts and 13 touchdowns while Philly Brown is the team's best weapon at receiver as he has 49 receptions for 596 yards while reaching the end zone nine times.
Devin Gardner has led Michigan under center and is 176-for-300 (58.7%) for 2,509 yards with 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while he's also rushed for 473 yards on 156 carries with 10 scores.
Fitzgerald Toussaint has led the team on the ground by rushing for 613 yards on 178 carries for 11 scores while Jeremy Gallon has been their most consistent receiver, hauling in 71 catches for 1,109 yards with eight touchdowns.
The rivalry continues when Ohio State and Michigan take the field this afternoon.
