Thomas Lister Jr. contracted COVID-19 four months ago before he died last December 10.
Wrestler and actor Thomas "Tiny" Lister Jr." died in his home in Marina Del Rey, California. He was 62.
Lister's body was discovered when his friends called for a wellness check before 3 p.m. Deputies came to his home and found Lister's lifeless body.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Grace Medrano confirmed the incident.
"Mr. Lister's death appears to be of natural causes but will ultimately be determined by the Office of Medical Examiner-Coroner," Medrano said in his statement per CNS.
His manager Cindy Cowan told PEOPLE that Lister experienced COVID-like symptoms that lasted for seven days.
Lister, who starred in his first wrestling movie "No Holds Barred," spoke to Cowan that his condition 'got really bad, really quick.'
"He couldn't breathe and felt very weak. It literally went so fast," Cowan said.
Cowan narrated that Thomas Lister first thought of his diabetes. The late actor told Cowan that it could be the one that was triggering his unusual feeling.
Lister added that he knew he was about to acquire COVID again. The award-winning producer continued, and she requested Lister to get tested.
Still, she planned to bring Lister to the doctor, but the actor was frightened to get the shots. She was worried at that time because Lister was still having a hard time breathing.
"It's remarkable and truly heartbreaking," Cowan recalled that Lister should have been tested earlier.
Moreover, the actor was looking forward to spending Christmas with his daughter. According to Cowan, Thomas Lister only wanted things to get back to normal. Given his age and health condition, he just thought that he needed a long rest to stay afloat.
Thomas Lister, who was known under his moniker "Zeus," played the villain's role who fought the wrestling legend Hulk Hogan in 1989. His trademark shouts "aw aw," and "no-selling" will be remembered by the fans.
'No Holds Barred' got extended when Thomas Lister challenged Hulk Hogan in a real wrestling arena.
Shortly, he formed a tag team with Randy Savage "The Macho Man" to fight the rival duo of Hogan and Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. Zeus and Macho Man lost in the tag team match when Hulk Hogan pinned Zeus in the 1998 Summerslam.
