Sports can be surprising sometimes. The plays, the shots, the calls, and everything is a wrap for a good sports game.
In other instances, sports can be attributed to something weird or new knowledge that we find shocking.
If you are a fan of strange things, happenings, or events, this list of amazing and unbelievable sports facts is for you.
1. Animal parts are used to make sports equipment.
You've been warned. If you are an animal lover, you will find this first fact unsatisfying. In making strings of the tennis racket, either the guts of the cows or sheep are used. Previously, it was believed that the guts came from the cats. When it comes to baseballs, horse foreskins make it amusing - and strange at the same time. Furthermore, dried cow eyeballs were used before to make golf balls.
2. The original gold medals are mostly made from Sterling Silver.
A misnomer fact in the process is what makes it more interesting. The Olympic Games medal will lead you to believe that they were gold when they were molded using sterling silver. Surprisingly, the gold composition of the Olympic medal in the Rio Olympics 2016 was only 1.34 percent.
3. Lunar Athleticism
It does not mean that you gain athleticism when moonbeams strike you. It shows that there are people who played sports when they navigate the moon. Those two are Edgar Mitchell and Alan Shephard. Later, Mitchell coined the fact as he said that it was the first lunar Olympics conducted. In all seriousness, their 1971 landing was part of scientific exploration. Mitchell used a makeshift javelin and flung it elsewhere while Shephard threw a golf ball.
