Up to this day, the seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher's condition leaves the fans and the sports enthusiasts in a quandary.

It was reported a few days before his 44th birthday on December 29, 2013, that the racing veteran encountered a never-before tragedy that will change his life forever. Schumacher sustained severe injuries from head trauma, but luckily his ski helmet decreased the severity of the fall, so he survived. It resulted from hitting a rock with this head while skiing in the French Alps.

Since then, he was placed in a coma for six months. It has been seven years since his tragic fall, and yet, his family and colleagues remain silent about his current condition. According to EXPRESS, some health professionals narrated about Schumacher's progress in his recovery.

In June 2014, Schumacher was released from the Swiss hospital. At that time, he has regained consciousness and was permitted to go home in September. Reports said that Schumacher is still undergoing continuous treatment.

Despite few reports, some rumors have spread that the racer has become bed-ridden due to his state. As a consequence, osteoporosis and muscle atrophy are said to be his present medical conditions.

Other reports claimed that he was stuck in a wheelchair due to paralysis. In another intriguing report, other statements claimed that the German racer endures memory loss and speech problems.

Schumacher showed signs of fast recovery two years after he was admitted to the hospital. The claim was later supported by Ross Brawn, the former's long-time friend who declared that the 51-year-old professional driver is on his way to healthy rejuvenation.

"All I would say is there is a lot of speculation about Michael's condition," Brawn said.

According to Essentially Sports, several reports have sprung that Schumacher was about to undergo a surgical operation. The claim said that the racer was set for a stem cell operation for the fast restoration of his body. His family denied these allegations as his present state could not still cope up with the surgery.

Later this year, it was confirmed by Internewcast that Schumacher will undergo stem cell surgery from Swiss neurosurgeon Eric Riedener, who earlier said that the F1 legend was still in a vegetative state.

It was remembered that Schumacher retired in 2012 at the age of 43 after winning 91 Grand Prix victories and 155 podiums. He also achieved the second all-time in Pole Positions with 68 and garnered 1,566 career points throughout his racing career.

Before that, he left the Ferrari in 2006 but returned four years later. In his 19 years of F1 racing, he left six races out of 19.

Meanwhile, Schumacher's son Mick Schumacher who started his way at the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2019, currently joins Formula 2 for Prema. The 21-year-old racer has high hopes that he will compete in F1 in 2021.

Mick said that his father's tips had helped him in his racing journey. Even after the accident, the lesson that Michael taught the younger Schumacher serves as an inspiration on his journey to more prestigious racing competitions in the future.
