Today at 5:00 p.m. ET, the Montreal Canadiens (14-9-2, 30 points) and Washington Capitals (12-11-2, 26 points) take the ice at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. in the second of three meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Montreal fans can hear all of the hard-hitting action on TSN 690 while Washington fans can do the same on WFED 1500.

Both of these teams enter play in opposite directions as Montreal has won four games in a row while Washington has dropped four straight. The last time these teams met, the Canadiens topped the Capitals 3-2 last Friday at the Verizon Center.

The Canadiens have won six of eight, including their latest 3-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday and will look to collect a fifth straight win today.

"We have the same mentality no matter what building we're playing in," forward Brendan Gallagher (9-6-15) said via NHL.com. "We're trying to score a goal. If you can get big power-play goals on the road, it is huge. It helps you create momentum especially in the other teams' buildings. But I can't really explain the reason for it."

Gallagher is fourth on the team in scoring while P.K. Subban leads the team with three goals and 18 assists for 21 points and Alex Galchenyuk (six goals, 11 assists) and Andre Markov (two goals, 15 assists) each have 17 points.

The Capitals current skid has brought the team from first in the Metropolitan Division to one point away from fourth as the team sits in third and are coming off of a 6-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

"If guys don't know that we let one get away, shame on them. Shame on them," coach Adam Oates told Monumental Network, according to NHL.com. "I'm going to tell them. But still, if they walk away and they're not upset, then there's nothing any coach can do to change that."

Captain Alex Ovechkin has eight points in his last seven games and is tied for the league lead with 20 goals while adding eight assists for 28 points. Nicklas Backstrom has five goals and 19 assists for 24 points while Mikhail Grabovski (seven goals, 12 assists) and Marcus Johansson (six goals, 13 assists) each have 19 points.

Braden Holtby is 10-8-1 between the pipes for the Capitals with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage while Carey Price is 10-8-2 with a 2.00 GAA and a .936 save percentage.

The Canadiens look to win a fifth straight game while the Capitals hope to avoid dropping a fifth game in a row when these teams go head-to-head today at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
