Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET the Vancouver Canucks (12-9-5, 29 points) and Ottawa Senators will take the ice for some Turkey Day NHL action that can be live streamed here. Canucks fans can listen to the game on TEAM 1040, while Senators fans can do the same on TSN 1200.
Both clubs come into this game struggling to find the back of the net. The Canucks have managed to tighten up defensively, however, while the Senators are trending more toward the median on defense.
"A couple mistakes are costing us," said Henrik Sedin, who leads Ottawa in points with 25. "We're playing so well defensively throughout the game and it seems like every time something late in games is costing us goals," he said. "It's extremely tough to take."
Meanwhile, the Canucks record looks okay, but they're coming off a 1-2-3 homestand. That's not deterring head coach John Tortorella from being confident as the Canucks embark on a four-game road sojourn.
"I'm very excited about some of the things that happened tonight. You may call me crazy, but I am," Tortorella said of his team which has become more aggressive in attacking the goal. "We've just got to keep banging away and work on some details of the game, understand situational play and keep working at this."
Aggressiveness may not be enough against Ottawa, which just gained a ton of confidence following a come-from-behind win over the Washington Capitals. Prior to that victory, the Senators had struggled mightily to win games after falling behind.
"Obviously a huge two points for us," defenseman Chris Phillips said. "We need to build off this momentum and keep it going. We look at the standings and we're not in a great spot right now. We need to get on a bit of a roll."
