Microsoft announced the Surface Book back in 2015, bringing in a trend of a 2-in-1 device. Ever since then, the fans have been anticipating the arrival of its next iteration. Previously, Microsoft was expected to bring the Surface Book 2 with the traditional 2-in-1 design. However, a new rumor suggests that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 will flaunt a new clamshell design.

According to a report published by The Verge, the upcoming Microsoft Surface Book 2 device will be dropping the traditional 2-in-1 design seen in its previous predecessor. Instead, the smart device will come featuring a new clamshell design.

Separately, reports suggest that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 has already entered mass production. It even goes on to indicate that the upcoming device will be unveiled by the end of this month. Microsoft has been expecting to hold a Surface Book hardware launch event since quite sometime. The company is not only expected to introduce its Surface Book 2 but also its Surface Book Pro 5 device.

On the specifications front, rumors suggests that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 will feature a 13.5-inch display. As far as the price of the smart device is concerned, rumor has it that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 may start at around $1,000. The smart-device is also expected to pack a few upgraded features, posing a direct challenge to its rivals like tech giants Apple and Google.

Contrary to what is mentioned above, another report published by Windows Central suggests that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 was to debut at Microsoft's expected spring event. However, due to several issues in its production process, the launch-date has yet again, been postponed. The information has neither been confirmed nor denied by Microsoft yet.
