WWE Payback 2017 is the first pay-per-view after WrestleMania 33. The WWE Universal Championship is not going to be defended because Brock Lesnar does not want to. Here are the latest rumors and updated match card for the Monday Night Raw-exclusive event.
Braun Strowman to defeat Roman Reigns?
According to Cageside Seats, the WWE is planning to give the Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns match at WWE Payback 2017 a stipulation to make both superstars look strong. Strowman is expected to win because he will challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal championship.
On the other hand, Reigns losing at WWE Payback 2017 via a stipulation won't hurt him long term. He is the hottest superstar at the moment since he retired The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33. However, the WWE should really listen to the reactions he gets and realize that they need to turn him heel.
Sasha Banks not turning heel soon
The WWE have planted the seeds on a Sasha Banks heel turn and many predicted it to happen at WWE Payback 2017 when she losses to Bayley. However, the heel turn could happen later now that Alexa Bliss will challenge for the Raw women's championship.
Sasha appears to be heading to a feud with Mickie James. The WWE might be saving her heel turn before SummerSlam wherein she is rumored to win the Raw women's title. Finally, here is the WWE Payback 2017 updated match card courtesy of WWE.com.
