Greek Phenom Giannis Antetokounmpo Lording it Over the Rest

The Milwaukee Bucks have gone on to post a 14-4 record last March that earned Jason Kidd the Eastern Conference coaching honors for the month. It is the franchise's third-most victories in a stretch. A huge reason for the streak is Giannis Antetokounmpo who also bagged the best player honors.

When the idea of turning the phenomenal baller from Greece into a point guard has been brought up, most people have simply shrugged the conversation off. By the time the all-around hustle of Giannis Antetokounmpo comes into full swing, an unprecedented attention has been directed to him. As of late, he is averaging 22.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.4 steals.

What makes the man they call the Greek Freak special is his overwhelming presence on both the offensive and the defensive ends of the floor. More than that, it is his consistency that has spearheaded the campaign of the Milwaukee Bucks. His March statistics are closely associated with his career averages of 23.2 points, 8.7 caroms, 5.4 dishes, 1.7 steals and almost a couple of blocks per outing. In addition, Giannis Antetokounmpo has managed to maintain a 50 percent shooting percentage throughout his playing days in the NBA so far.

The 6'11" player has been a sight to behold when he first entered the league. According to Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens, what Antetokounmpo does on the court has been impactful in a lot of aspects. In fact, observers see the Bucks forward/guard as the next Magic Johnson. His almost 7-foot frame is itself a paradox considering the flexibility that goes with this kind of build.

At 22, Giannis Antetokounmpo has a lot of growing up to do. Considering his work ethic, it is astounding to know that he has done huge things within a short span of time. In only his fourth year in the NBA, he has padded up his performance numbers.

Teammate Greg Monroe shares that the Greek Freak does not seem to worn out during practices. Veteran Jason Terry compares Antetokounmpo to the hard working Dirk Nowitzki of the Mavericks. Meanwhile, Kidd sums it best when he notes that his player's ability to listen has contributed heavily to his development.
