"Vikings" Season 5 is still a long way off before the official premiere. But that didn't stop fans from speculating on the upcoming TV show. The latest rumors suggest that Lagertha will be staying on the show a lot longer than expected.

Actress Katheryn Winnick who plays Lagertha has posted an image on Instagram that shows the script for the 16th episode of "Vikings" season 5. What this means is that Lagertha will still be alive towards the end of the season which is surprising for fans of Vikings. It's been widely assumed that Lagertha will die eventually and the fact she is still present for episode 16 proves that she will be alive for much longer that what is speculated.

In addition, Winnick also posted another image of the script for "Vikings" Season 5 episode 18. Given the inevitability of Lagertha's death, we can safely assume that she will die at the end of the season since she will still be present for the majority of the time.

Lagertha's fate was sealed when she killed Aslaug in order to regain the throne of Kattegat in "Vikings" season 4. The sons of Asluag have vowed to avenge the death of their mother with Ivar and Ubbe attempting to murder the new queen. Fortunately for Lagertha, Ivar's attempted murder was stopped as soon as Bjorn entered the scene and reminded every one of the most important task at hand which was to avenge the death of their father which they accomplished at the end of the season. "Vikings" season 5 will feature the aftermath of Ragnar's death and how it affects everyone.

"Vikings" season 5 is in the process of transitioning to new characters to lead the show that began with the death of Ragnar and it seems that Lagertha will be the next to go. Besides the sons of Ragnar, Harald also has intentions of taking the queen down.

Furthermore, the teaser for "Vikings" Season 5 also included a prophecy from the seer that predicts the death of Lagertha. The latest season will feature a total of 20 episodes and expect the death of Lagertha to occur on either the 19th or the final episode.
