It has been rumored that WWE was tossing around the idea of possibly doing a title-for-title unification match between the World Heavyweight Champion and the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 30 on April 6 in New Orleans, and the company furthered the rumors at the end of the Survivor Series pay-per-view Sunday night when World Heavyweight Champion John Cena interrupted WWE Champion Randy Orton's victory celebration, with Cena challenging The Viper after the show went off the air.

Orton successfully defended his WWE Championship against The Big Show Sunday night after Show downed him with the knockout punch on the outside but was distracted by the Authority coming out after he rolled Orton back into the ring. Orton took advantage of the distraction to nail an RKO and a punt to the head to pick up the victory.

Orton's celebration was short-lived, however, as Cena's music hit and he and Orton stared each other down, each raising their respective titles as the Survivor Series went off the air. According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, after the show was off the air Cena challenged Orton to a champion vs. champion match right there at the TD Garden in Boston, but Orton declined.

After Orton declined, Kane went after Cena but Triple H repeatedly stopped him. Kane then went to chokeslam Triple H but was calmed down by Orton which led to the Authority leaving. Cena took the microphone to cut a promo after the Authority left, but Triple H came back out.

Cena then reportedly challenged Triple H to get in the ring, but WWE chairman Vince McMahon made a return in front of the crowd and got ready to fight Cena. Stephanie McMahon then came out and stopped Vince and the Authority left once again as Cena stood in the ring.

Cena took to Twitter on Monday morning to tweet at Orton, further hinting that a winner-take-all match between the two champions may happen at WrestleMania 30:

It was reported earlier this month that the WWE decided to have John Cena defeat Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship at Hell in a Cell on Oct. 27 in order to give the World Heavyweight Championship an important feel as an equivalent to the WWE Championship while also building it up for a possible title unification match.

Cena talked about giving the title prestige when he spoke with NOLA.com hyping WrestleMania.

"This is not taken as a shot of disrespect to anyone who has held the title before me, but it's now viewed as a second-tier championship, Cena told NOLA.com earlier this month."[Defending it at WrestleMania 30] will truly put a stamp on making it the real deal. I want the WWE universe to realize that it's not a second-tier championship. It should be treated with as much respect as the WWE title."

It remains to be seen what the WWE has planned as far as WrestleMania 30 and a possible title unification match, but the Survivor Series went a long way in hyping up the possibility.
