Aaron Hernandez News: Former NFL Vets Attorneys Seek Gag Order In Odin Lloyd Killing [VIDEO]

Attorneys for former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez have renewed their request for a gag order in his murder case, accusing prosecutors of "orchestrating a publicity stunt" by tipping off the media last month that they were seeking to subpoena yet another NFL player in connection with the probe.

According to the Boston Globe, in a motion filed in Fall River Superior Court on Thursday defense attorneys accused prosecutors of deliberately leaking word that Miami Dolphins veteran Michael Pouncey would be forced to testify before a grand jury now investigating Hernandez's potential involvement in an intra-state gun running ring.

The Globe reports Hernandez and Pouncey are longtime friends who played together at the University of Florida. Pouncey was served following an Oct. 27 game against New England at Gillette Stadium.

Hernandez, 23, remains held without bail on first-degree murder charges in the alleged execution-style slaying of former associate Odin Lloyd. The semi-pro football player's bullet-riddled body was found in an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandez's North Attleborough mansion.

A second grand jury has been convened and is now investigating Hernandez's potential involvement in a 2012 unsolved drive-by, double-slaying in downtown Boston. Investigators later recovered the vehicle used in the shooting stored in the garage of a home rented in the name of Hernandez's uncle.
