Lamar Odom has put reconciliation efforts with reality TV wife Khloe Kardashian on hold as he desperately tries to resurrect his NBA career.
As previously reported, Odom is on the campus of Rhode Island University, his alma mater, working out with "elite" NBA trainer Rob McClanaghan. Days before embarking on the trip, Odom met with L.A. Clippers coach Doc Rivers for more than two hours about perhaps soon rejoining the team he spent last season with.
According to RadarOnline, on his trip to Providence Odom was spotted carrying a copy of the self-help book As A Man Thinketh, which encourages people to take responsibility for their own problems.
The 34-year-old veteran forward spent much of his summer being dogged by allegations of hardcore drug abuse and chronic infidelity in his marriage. At least three women openly claimed they engaged in affairs with Khloe Kardashian's husband and a self-professed drug dealer to the stars claimed he was once spending upwards of $800 a day on crack and other drugs.
Besides extensive physical training, McClanaghan's regiment revolves a lifestyle of "lifting, eating right, proper sleep and overall healthy living."
Sources close to Odom say he's already made great progress and "looks very good" in drills.
