Tiger Woods girlfriend and reigning Olympic downhill champion Lindsey Vonn suffered a partial ACL tear in her surgically repaired right knee in a Tuesday afternoon crash in Colorado, placing her imminent return to competitive skiing in grave danger.

According to ESPN, Vonn also suffered a strain in her knee, facial abrasions and a bruised shoulder blade. Her publicist. Lewis Kay, told the website, she will "pursue aggressive physical therapy and will determine the next time she is able to compete after seeing how she responds to the treatment."

What also remains to be seen is if Vonn will be able to fulfill her goals of competing in the next Olympic Games and defending her world titles. Vonn crashed while in training in Copper Mountain, Colo. She was not admitted to a hospital and instead went home to Vail to be evaluated by the doctor who performed her knee surgery.

Vonn, a four-time overall World Cup champion, tore ligaments in her right knee in a high-speed accident at the world championships in February. She has been aiming to return to World Cup competition next week in Beaver Creek, Colo. In addition, The Sochi Games commence in February.

Vonn and Woods have been publicly dating since early last year and she has raved that they easily complement each other based on their competitive natures and her respect for the way Woods deals with all his unrelenting pressure. Woods infamously split from first wife Elin Nordegren following a cheating where up to 15 women claimed they were sexually involved with him.
