Jimmy Butler Listed As Week-To-Week For Chicago Bulls With Toe Injury [VIDEO]

Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler is listed as week-to-week and will almost certainly miss the team's entire six-game road trip after an MRI on his right toe revealed a serious sprain.

According to ESPN, Butler suffered the injury during Monday night's home win over the Charlotte Bobcats and was held out of Tuesday's practice.

The 24-year-old third-year guard has averaged 11 points, five rebounds and two steals--- all career highs--- over the Bulls 6-3 start. Veteran Kirk Hinrich will likely start in Butler's absence as the Bulls embark on their annual circus road trip that begins Thursday night in Denver.

All-Star guard Derrick Rose acknowledged on Tuesday that the team would take a hit if Butler was lost for an extended period.

"Jimmy is someone we're definitely going to miss, especially with his energy and defense, and he's been knocking down shots," Rose said. "But the way our team is, if one guy goes down, the other guy's got to step up and do a great job. And that's Mike Dunleavy, Kirk, myself when I play the 2, and we just got to fill in for him."
