With the WWE working on plans for WrestleMania 30 this coming spring, it was revealed earlier this month that the WWE put the World Heavyweight Championship on John Cena to make the title seem more important. It was also rumored that there will be a possible for a title-for-title match between Cena and the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 30, and the man Cena beat, Alberto Del Rio, spoke about the possibility of a unification match and WrestleMania plans in a recent interview.

Del Rio dropped the title to Cena in Cena's first match back from injury on Oct. 27 at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, and will go up against him this Sunday at the WWE's Survivor Series event at the TD Garden in Boston. While hyping up the event this Sunday, Del Rio spoke about WrestleMania and the possibilities of a unification match.

"Of course that can happen, but I don't think it's something that we need right now," Del Rio told DigitalSpy.com of a unification match. "I think it's okay if we've got the WWE Title with one person and the World Heavyweight title with another one. That way you have two different storylines and you're talking about two major titles to be defended and be present in every single pay-per-view."

Del Rio said he wasn't sure what his plans will be for WrestleMania as WWE has kept things tight-lipped involving plans for the event that takes place in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on April 6.

To be honest, no," Del Rio told DigitalSpy.com when asked if he had any knowledge of plans for him heading into WrestleMania. "It's the same for everybody else, we don't know what we're going to be doing. I know I'm gonna be there, that's for sure. I'm going to be in one of the main matches. I don't know if it's going to be for one of the major titles or if it's going to be against one of the important Superstars from the WWE, but I'm definitely going to be there."

If a title-for-title match does go down, as it stands right now it would see Cena defend his World Heavyweight Championship vs. the WWE Champion Randy Orton, but the two may not be champions by the time the event rolls around with four pay-per-views between now and WrestleMania, and it's not definite that the WWE will go through with that plan.

Cena spoke about winning the title at Hell in a Cell and trying to give it back some respectability.

"This is not taken as a shot of disrespect to anyone who has held the title before me, but it's now viewed as a second-tier championship, Cena told NOLA.com earlier this month."[Defending it at WrestleMania 30] will truly put a stamp on making it the real deal. I want the WWE universe to realize that it's not a second-tier championship. It should be treated with as much respect as the WWE title."

Time will tell how much the plans will change heading into WrestleMania 30 in April, but right now it is possible that a title unification match could be in the cards.
